WE ARE ALL TO BE DISCIPLES

When Jesus began to minister here on earth, He chose people who would walk with Him, talk with Him, and fellowship with Him. The people He chose were a lot like you and me.

Some did not read the Bible as much as they should. Some needed to pray a lot more than they did. Some had made many mistakes in their life. Some did not use the gifts God had given them. Some had tempers. Some did not have confidence in themselves. Sounds like a lot of us doesn’t it?

He taught them about the importance of sharing with others about His Father’s love for people. He taught them that it is much better to give than to receive. He taught them, that through their sacrifice, others would find God’s love.

Being a disciple of Jesus is not an easy road to travel. Jesus told them that there would be days when things would not go their way. Days that they would want to throw in the towel and quit. Days that their hearts would be broken. Days that the only person they could count on would be their heavenly Father. That is also true today.

Jesus knew the disciples would have to learn and share the importance of personal prayer time with God, reading the Bible, leading by example, being willing to serve, and not being afraid to tell others their testimony.

Every person who asks Jesus into their life is asked to be a disciple also. We are to tell others about Jesus through words and actions. We are to use the gifts God has given us for His glory, not ours. We are all to be disciples.
