Being a mother is a thing of honor. As you grew up, you probably heard about people who were heroes in the Bible. There are also heroes in sports, heroes in war, and heroes in everyday life. Most of you didn’t realize you had a hero living right in your own home when you were growing up.

What you couldn’t do for yourself as a child, if you had a good mother, she did it for you. What you couldn’t provide for yourself, if she could, she provided for you. Sadly, some of us can’t, but when most of us think of mothers, we can’t help but think of love. Yes, people will love you, God loves you, but no one here on earth will ever love you with the love of your mother.

The love of a mother is the love of God manifested on earth. When a mother is willing to embrace that Godly character, the Bible says her children and her husband will be blessed.

Mothers, what you have is from God. Who you are is a gift from God. Mothers, with some help from fathers, you literally shape who your children will become and you shaped who they are today. Thank God for you mothers and the awesome job you have done at what has to be the most difficult and yet most rewarding job in the world. They call it motherhood. We all need to pause on your special day to honor your commitment & sacrificial love and to give thanks to God for His special example of love to us through our mothers.
